Anna Wardley, 39, is an endurance swimmer and charity fundraiser with a strong track record for completing gruelling swims. Anna took up swimming when she was 31 and completed a solo Channel swim two years later. In 2013 she completed her Five Island Swim Challenge, culminating in a 60-mile non-stop swim around the Isle of Wight in 26 hours and 33 minutes.
To date Anna has raised in excess of £60,000 for charity and is a sought-after motivational speaker. She was named Inspirational Woman of the Year 2013 at the Johnston Press South Awards in recognition of ‘her incredible swimming achievements and outstanding efforts raising money for charity’.
Anna has an extremely experienced support team who manage all aspects of her endurance challenges, from logistics and liaison with relevant authorities to the provision of full safety cover, expert weather services and shore events. Her media team works extensively on swimming and offshore sailing projects, using the latest technology, live trackers and social media to bring the events to life, to provide compelling content to media outlets and to drive charitable giving. Anna’s dedicated team has a strong track record for managing high-profile nationwide and international sponsorship activations.
Anna also runs Seagrass Communications Limited, a PR and event management agency specialising in international marine events, which was named Start-Up of the Year in the Excellence in Business Awards 2015.
